Tradition and community

I’ve been thinking (a wee bit) about communities – what they are, what brings them together and what binds them. I don’t really have answers to any of these questions – at least, not sufficiently coherent to share.

But yesterday we were in Irvine for the annual Marymass parade, and it occurred to me that traditions and festivals are times when communities come together, and enjoy being together. And while I continue to ruminate, here are a few photos.
